Overall, overseas property searches were up 33% last month compared with May 2019. Miles Shipside, a property expert at Rightmove, said:
“It’s still early days as we’re not out of lockdown yet and most airlines are still shut, but this is an indication that this has been a life-changing period for many who are reappraising both how and where they want to live.”

We didn't expect this....?
I think most people expected the opposite – that prices would go down due to Covid19 crises. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
A week ago I had a drink at Klandestino – one of my favorite bars down the hill from us. Mostly because I thought they had a difficult times like us, and wanted to show my sympathy.
Their business is good!? And they were very optimistic about the future… a few days ago some of their guests bought two houses at Intendente which they took as a good sign.
Yesterday I killed time at the hairdresser browsing through old tweets. One of the first that caught my attention was a story from Forbes about investors buying properties in Lisbon.
This morning my Brexit refugee friend mailed me a story from Guardian that seems to confirm this.
… and coming weekend we have our first Post Covid guests.
So we’re optimistic, too.
