Jazz & Animation in this year’s Animated Film Festival Monstra that opened Thursday.

Monstra FestivalTight bonds between jazz and animated films have been established ever since 1930s, from the time when jazz used to be the American pop music.

Spanning several decades from the works of the classics – Dave Fleischer, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery – all the way to contemporary authors of different poetic approaches from all over the world who still have great expectations from this music. So vibrant and vivid, jazz takes us to an exciting voyage that never ends.

Thursday the Animated Movie festival was kicked off for the 15th time.

The Lisbon Animation Festival | MONSTRA was born in 2000 in order to celebrate the artistic transversality , to meet people of different arts, new artistic looks forward , using as a basis the most multidisciplinary language we know, the Animated Film .
