Do you need exercise – do you like swimming?

5 minutes walk from Tings Lisbon we have our local Mercado do Forno do Tijolo. Inside this complex you find our newly renovated swimming pool

Only 5 minutes from Tings we have a brand new swimming pool

For more than 2 years Thomas has started all his mornings with 1,000 – 2,000 meters swimming exercise in our local swimming pool. Its the only exercise he gets except for all the km walk he does every day.

Contrary to the Piscina de Alfama near the National Pantheon – 10 minutes walk away -where the lanes are only 18 m long, in our swimming pool they are 25 m – which is ok for exercise swimming (we would prefer 50 meter).

Like most other Mercados in town our Mercado do Forno do Tijolo is slowly becoming a community meeting point with cafes, library, playground for kids, start up facilities etc

The Piscina de Arroios run by the Junta de Freguesia de Arroios and is part of the local Mercado Do Forno do Tijolo only 5 min walk from Miradouro da Sehora do Monte. Here we shop fish, vegetables and meat from early morning until noon, Annette’s gets pedicure at the local beauty parlor Glamour Cabeleireiro e Estetica run by our Nepalese friend Meena and we have the local Lidl.

The old swimming pool is brand new

In February 2016 the swimming pool reopened after a total makeover with a new super wooden roof construction and a glass wall facing the Basket Ball field outside.

It opens at 8 am every morning and costs 3 € for 1 hr – or 10 x 1 hr for a 10 visit ticket.
