From Beijing to the best Tasca near our hotel in Lisbon

I just worked on a dish for our Hotel, listening to Rod Stewart’s best track

This is the track I just listened to:

This is picture I just received from Kasper in Beijing:

You can stay at home, work 40 hr pr week, and dream of the traveling that you can do in your 6 weeks holiday. Or you can travel, work and dream of 6 weeks of holiday! We have chosen the latter. Our bonus is our friends from all over the world. Wang Jing produces movies. He loves Lars v. Trier who has taken him to Copenhagen. We talked a lot about that. Next time we meet will be at Jing’s wine yard 50 km outside Beijing – where we will talk about Catarina and Dona Fernanda’s food.

And this is the story behind the picture:

In the beginning of the 1990’s we met Jesper & Lucia. He is Danish, she is from Lisbon. After living in various cities in Europe they moved to Denmark where their son Thomas went to the International school, and met Joana.

One day Jesper talked with Joana’s parents who are Buddhists.

You have to meet our friends, Thomas & Annette – they are Buddhists too.

That’s how we met Jakob.

A few years later we went to Cambodia – to visit friends and do research for Tings.

You must meet my nephew Kasper Jakob said. He lives in Beijing.

We had just booked train tickets Moscow to Beijing from where we had a connecting flight to Phnom Penh.

That’s where we met Kasper, who is now one of our partners and represents the dharma in our small set-up.

You must meet my friends Thomas & Annette, Kasper told his good friend Wang Jing a month ago, when he heard he was going to Lisbon.

Yesterday we had dinner with Wang Jing and his friends and family at Catarina’s – our favourite Tasca, only 5 minutes from Tings Lisbon.

Today we have received almost 100 mails, messages, phone calls, tweets and sms’es from people who wants to work with us at Tings Lisbon. It’s a bit scary. They are all potential friends – and we don’t want to disappoint friends.

Hope we can live up to their expectations.

We can 🙂

To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
To gain all while you give,
To roam the roads of lands remote,
To travel is to live.

Hans Christian Andersen visited Lisbon in 1866
