The best location to buy a house for a hotel in Lisbon is in less high-end zones like Graca.

Thinking about making a hotel in Lisbon? JLL’s Market 360º report is the best way to get an overview of the market.

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated or JLL specializes in real estate services and investment management with more than 70,000 people in more than 1,000 locations in 80 countries.

We usually never promote companies – and this is not a recommendation. We have never had anything to do with JLL and are actually not specialists in real estate.

The reason why we make this exception is because they just published their Market 360º report about the Portuguese real estate market. This report gives one of the best overviews on what is today – one of the most interesting markets for real estate investors (or hotel projects like Tings): Lisbon – and Porto. We are not rich and have no interest in that business. But we have a lot of friends who are – and since we follow all that happens in Lisbon within start-up, food, art culture, business etc we don’t mind sharing 🙂

If more industries in Portugal were to demonstrate the health and performance indicators of our real estate we would definitely be one of the most solid countries in the EU. Pedro Lancastre, MD JLL Portugal

Real Estate & Tourism are the growing factors in the Portuguese economy.

Real Estate is going through a remarkable stage and everything indicates that it is going to be a lasting one. Real estate prices in Lisbon is still way below all other European Capitals  – with the city’s history and location with the best climate in Europe that doesn’t make any sense.

The previous years dynamics will continue – the key words for 2017 is consolidation with less developement opportunities in High End zones like Avenida Liberdade, Principe Real and Baixa. If profit is your only reason for investing in real estate you must look into other parts of town. Fernando Vasco Costa, JLL expects increased appetite for alternative projects to the High-End Residentials in less high-end zones. Or as we have blogged about before – investing in Porto. Both make perfectly sense to us.

Same with tourism where the outlook for 2017 is positive with continuous growth in all important parameters. The key word here is diversity.
