The Wild Raspberries is an Amsterdam based sixties inspired folk-duo consisting of Hannah Gilhooley and Keez Groenteman (Lola Kite, Jacco Gardner). Two years after the two met at a Jacco Gardner show in Berlin the band was formed on a rainy afternoon in 2015, mainly because ‘We finished a videogame, were bored and had some songs and guitars lying around’. Heavily inspired by fingerpicking legends such as John Fahey and Glenn Jones, and folk revival artists of the sixties Vashti Bunyan and Sibylle Baier the sound of the duo can be described as dreamy and ethereal, warm and lo-fi, with melodies that stay with you.
The Wild Raspberries are currently working on their debut record.
