Our Tram #28 is the best in Lisbon!

The cheapest and best way to get a first impression of Lisbon is a tram ride

Lisbon are the Trams. #28 is 2 minutes from our hotel in Graca

We use the popular tram #28 to reach Tings Lisbon on only 3 minutes walk from its stop in Graca

Touristic or not we love taking the tram.

#28 is the most popular one so unless you have special preferences we suggest you to take one of the others around town.

Or go on odd hours like we usually do – especially after a dinner or drink down town. Cruising through down town late in the evening is something special.

Trams and funicular makes a city something special. Most of our favorite cities have them: Lisbon, San Francisco, Istanbul etc. – this morning we just got a list of interesting destinations in US Today’s Tram feature 🙂

usatoday10bestTransit lines just don’t just offer a way to get around a city. Some are tourist attractions themselves, says Sam Schwartz, a transportation consultant who runs GridlockSam.com. ‘

For example, he says it’s hard not to be charmed by funiculars, hill-climbing railcars linked by cables, which first rose to prominence in the 19th century. He also has a weakness for trams and streetcars. “There’s something romantic and historic about them.”
