If you like retail shopping Lisbon has the most amazing shops. Like the Embroidry Shop in Principe Real where kings, presidents and movie starts have shoppe for a decade… or more.  Why haven’t we seen this on any lists? And what about our tailor in Graca (on top of this post)

Old-world vendors still flourish in the heart of Portugal’s capital. Most of them in Down Town only 15 minutes walk from Graca. The perfect way to get an alternative access to Lisbon.

For more than a decade Rua da Conceicao – #2 on Kate Armstrong’s Top Ten – has been the street of retrosarias (haberdashery shops), for dressmakers seeking out the likes of rare buttons, skeins of wool or sequins. We can spend hours en this living museum.
