World Food Atlas is a project dedicated to cataloging, preserving, and promoting local ingredients, traditional recipes, and authentic restaurants.
So far, we have about 10,000 entries of dishes and ingredients in our base, but we have only just begun.
Our mission is to catalog the world’s dishes and ingredients, to save our grandmothers’ traditional recipes from oblivion, and to encourage travelers to familiarize themselves with different cultures through high-quality, authentic, local food.

TasteAtlas is the world’s first global map of local food with information about traditional dishes and recipes, local ingredients and authentic restaurants.
It also has reviews from professional food critics and local experts with recommendations where a particular dish should be eaten.
In other word. When you visit Lisbon: Tripadvisor will tell you where most tourists eat Bachalau, Pregos, Caldo Verda & Sardinas while TasteAtlas will tell you that you should eat Açorda, Feijoada à portuguesa, Cataplana, Queijo de Azeitão and drink Galão, Castelão and Café com cheirinho.
TasteAtlas is the only website in the world which at the moment provides this information in a high-quality way.
I just wanted to see the part of the map with relevance to Lisbon and Portugal but ended up spending more than 1 hr cruising around the world – from dish to dish.
