To all cake lovers – read this. Due to an operation 2 weeks ago my physical activities the last days have been limited to a daily walk up and down Rua da G.aça from Largo da Graça to Rua dos Sapadores. So I’ve had a lot of time for quick coffees. And more important to really notice all the small shops and business along the road. The distance is maximum 400 meter. Still we have several butchers, several restaurants, tascas & bars, several fruit & vegetable shops and all the other shops a village like Graça needs to function. What surprises me the most are all the Pastelarias. When you know that all Tascas and all Cafes serve coffee and have a small assortment of cakes and when you know that you can buy bread almost everywhere its a big mystery that a small stretch of road like Rua da Graça has 12 (TWELVE) of them. Or one every 33 meter. And all of them are packed from the first ones open at 7 am until the last ones close at 10 pm. Several are so good that you don’t have to go to Belem to get a good pasteis de nata – like our favorite little secret Centro Ideal. We still have two on our list we haven’t tried… Thomas/Graça [gallery ids="12098,12097,12096,12095,12094,12106,12093,12104,12103,12102,12101,12100" type="square" columns="4"]]]>
