When we left Yangon & Kathmandu and moved to Lisbon I started blogging about Lisbon and its opportunities. When I blogged about all the golf opportunities we have one hour by car from Tings Lisbon several of our European friends whom we haven’t seen for years because of our life in Asia planned to come and visit us. The golfers among them wanted to combine their visit with golf and asked about how to go to Algarve.
Algarve is not that far away – but you don’t stay in Lisbon and go there just for a game of Golf. But instead of telling our friends that I decided to find alternatives closer to us, I spent some time researching the pros and cons between golf in Lisbon vs golf in Algarve.
That’s how I found the story in Golfer that explains why many players prefer Lisbon to Algarve when it comes to Golf.
Besides all his golf arguments for choosing Lisbon James Gray forgets to mention one very important one. Thanks to the Gulf Stream Lisbon has the best climate in all Europe with the highest average temperature, most sunny hours and lowest rainfall.
If that isn’t ok for golfers then I am pretty sure that if the rest of the family doesn’t play golf they will like the opportunity of going to one of Lisbon’s many beaches around us… among them, some of the best in the world.
And that’s something we know about.
