We don’t want to brag.
But since we opened Tings Lisbon in 2017 we (especially Annette) – has spent so much time creating the hotel we would love to stay in ourselves that we feel our small oasis here in Graça is the best in town – and we are very critical. Add to that our beautiful garden with lush trees, cozy corners and river view. And of course our lounge where guests work from, relax with a book or hang our with fellow travelers.
One of Annette’s more odd inventions is our Triangle Room. In stead of just leaving the empty space that surrounds the staircase unused – she turned it into a room a small cozy room.
Like Mira did.
We found her was sitting at Annette’s big common table in the lounge one afternoon reading and drinking tea – or was it hot ginger? She had passed by Tings on her way to the Miradouro.
The next day she was there again – she had left her hostel and booked a room at Tings for one night – in our Triangular Room. The following morning she extended her stay with one night. And then one more night – which gave us a problem.
Mira’s note
Due to our never-ending construction project we were forced to close her floor and had to move her.
To compensate for the inconvenience we upgraded her to White Balcony something she was doubtful about at the beginning (like ourselves she loves our cozy Triangular Rooms) but ended up loving as much as her first room.
Mira was not on ‘holiday’ – she needed a place to work or focus. Or maybe just relax and get inspired. She ended up staying with us for many days…
Before she left she had her last cup hot garlic, ginger & lemon. Then she rushed to the rushed to the waiting UBER and left for the airport to catch her flight back to Berlin.
When we cleaned her table we found this nice and warm note.
We like small notes like Mira’s…
And I love the sleeping in a triangular bed
