Lisbon Is a walking city. And because of its seven hills the short walk on Google Map not only ends up becoming much longer than expected – all the stairs and the steep and narrow roads makes walking much tougher than expected.
So after the first days most guests always need to relax with a book and just do nothing.
Our garden is perfect for that. Its quiet, shady and has a super view.
If you want to stay inside our guest only terrace in our main house is a good alternative.
But we know how it is to relax as travellers. After a couple of hours at the hotel you start getting restless. You get the feeling of missing out on something.
Don’t worry.
If you need a break Graça has a lot of small oasis you can escape to with sun or shade and with or without a cold drink and/or a cup of coffee. We have beautiful parks, lively squares and our personal choice: some of Lisbon’s best Miradouros (view points).

There a two things you can see no matter where you are in Lisbon. Castello São Jorge and our beautiful Pine Tree on the viewpoint outside Tings Lisbon.
Miradouro da Senhora do Monte just outside our door is considered the best viewpoint i Lisbon.
Not only is it on Lisbon’s highest hill. Because of its circular shape without ‘neighbouring houses’ blocking the view it has a 300° panoramic view of Lisbon.
The Icing on the Cake is the ‘Secret Garden’ started up by our friends in 2019 – the place to be for the best sun downer in town with live music and a super crowd.
Paris in Lisbon? The Church, the Esplanada Bar in Graça
The view fantastic (though not as good as from our miradouro). But it has a cafe that serves all kind of cocktails, draught beer and different toasts at very reasonable prices considering its prime location. What’s not to like?
The cafe is ‘hidden’ in the corner with the monastery at the back and the main entrance to the beautiful church to the right – if it wasn’t for all the tables and the chairs you wouldn’t see it when you come down from Tings Lisbon.
The huge green pines, the clock tower and all the music and artists everywhere creates a fantastic bohemian ambiance. Sometimes we feel like being in Paris.
We use it as our outdoor office during the day
Miradouro Do Monte Agudo is our hidden gem and where we chill with a book in Café Esplanada’s sunbeds or picnic with friends at the Marble Pergola
Shhh… this one is our hidden gem.
Miradouro Do Monte Agudo is where we hide when we want to take a break away from the crowd and traffic.
It’s only 10 minutes walk from Tings and Graça’s hassle. But since neither cars, bikes or Tuk Tuks are allowed nobody goes there except for us locals.
Miradouro Do Monte Agudo is not only the best place to see the sun sets – its also a fantastic place to sit and read a book in the shade, hold hands or just do nothing but watching the relaxed ambiance.

Miradouro da Penha de França must be Lisbon’s least known viewpoint.
Located on the top of the hill at the end of Rua da Penha de França (the extension of Largo da Graça) with nothing houses or trees in front of you the view from here is fantastic but very different.
But as the view is South-West its the perfect spot for sunrises.
