Any plans for the weekend?
If not – why not go rooftop bar cruising – the perfect solution to a natural high after starting the night with sun downers from one of Lisbon’s 7 hills.
A year ago our favorite Travel Media – Conde Nast Traveller – published a list of their 10 best roof top bars in town.
In this heat we can’t think of other places to stay – maybe except for the beach bars around town. So here is a re-post of Amy Abraham’s guide to Rooftops in town.
[caption id="attachment_media-34" align="aligncenter" width="1176"] The roof top bar on Hotel Mundial and the Topo Bar are two of our own favorite roof-top-bars. Both on Martim Moniz 7 minutes walk down from Tings Lisbon where this photo is taken.[/caption]
]]>LISBON IS A CITY OF SEVEN HILLS, and therefore a city of spectacular views. Views out across the River Tagus, sweeping towards the Atlantic; views across the city itself, labyrinthine neighbourhoods of narrow streets roofed in terracotta tile, grand neoclassical buildings painted bright colours, architectural landmarks from the Moorish castle to the iconic bridges… and so much sunshine! Natural, then, that Lisbon’s charms should be soaked up from on high from one of the city’s many rooftop bars. They’re a diverse bunch, from chic and clean-lined hotel bars to bright little places in revived bairros – here’s our pick of the 10 best rooftop bars in Lisbon. See Amy Abraham’s roof top guide on Conde Nast Traveler.
