Escape the crowds and find yourself a quiet little spot on this gorgeous Portuguese beach which resembles some of the best tropical beaches in the Caribbean.
When guidebooks and media write about Comporta Beach most of them mean the beaches along the 30 km long Troia Peninsula – from the super posh and expensive Comporta to the Troia Resorts just opposite Setubal.
If you – like us – prefer Adam & Eve bountyland, just pass through Comporta and continue north until you find a place you like. Park the car on the road roadside and cross the huge sand dunes for 20 minutes. The effort is worth every drop of sweat.
When you climb the last dune you reach one of the best beaches in the world (and we have seen a lot). And depending on where you park your car you will probably have it to yourself – or maybe together with a few dolphins passing by.
Don’t forget to bring water and a beach parasol… And if you stay at Tings Lisbon – ask for beach towels.
Comporta is a charming village – but very small with only few places to eat.
So unless you need a spot to relax (or work) and do absolutely NOTHING (except for spending money) we don’t recommend people to go there.
Only the beaches from Comporta and up North
If you insist to stay the night, go to the charming hidden gem Alcácer do Sal. And are you on a longer road trip include Évora. The total driving for this circuit is around 4-5 hours.
You have many possibilities 🙂
